A very warm welcome to Birchwood C of E Primary School!

Welcome to Birchwood Church of England Primary School.

Our School Values are:

· Perseverance       · Hope         · Respect        · Trust        · Friendship      · Love

Our Christian ethos and values underpin all of our actions.  We believe everyone has limitless potential and that all of our children can achieve if given rich opportunities, experiences, care and guidance.  With children who are eager to learn, parents and Governors who are supportive, our team of dedicated staff promote a culture of creativity with high aspirations where there are no barriers to a child’s success.  We challenge our children and ourselves to be the best we can be in a safe, rich and purposeful environment, while learning together through faith, fun and friendship.

We have high expectations and relentlessly strive for excellence.  We encourage children to take pride in their presentation, environment and learning.  We expect children to demonstrate excellent manners and behaviour with respect for others and their environment.  Staff work closely together to ensure consistency of these expectations and a shared responsibility for all children regardless of class or year group.

We hope that our website will provide you with all the information you require about our school. If you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact the school office via email birchwood_primary@sch.warrington.gov.uk  or by telephone 01925 823316.

Mrs S Bentley, Headteacher

Recommended Procedures before pupils return to school after half-term
Dear Parents and Carers, Attached to this ping is a letter from Public Health which highlights the rising case number across Warrington and asks for caution when socialising during the half term. It also recommends that: • pupils from Y5 and Y6 administer an LFT the night before returning to school • that if there is a case of COVID-19 in a household that all high school and college aged young people in the household take an LFD test each day for the isolation period of the household case and all Y5 and Y6 aged children take a daily LFD test whilst awaiting the result of a PCR. Thank you for your support through what has been a very busy first Autumn half term. I hope that you all have a restful half-term break.

    PE
As the hot weather is set to continue we would like the children to come to school in the school PE kit each day (plain shorts & plain white T-shirt). This will hopefully keep them cooler than school uniform. Can you also remember to apply sun cream before they come to school and to make sure that they have their water bottle and sun hat with them. Children in Year 6 will need to wear their school uniform on Thursday as it is their leavers service.
