Birchwood High Res Logo

A very warm welcome to Birchwood C of E Primary School!

Welcome to Birchwood Church of England Primary School.

Our School Values are:

· Perseverance       · Hope         · Respect        · Trust        · Friendship      · Love

Our Christian ethos and values underpin all of our actions.  We believe everyone has limitless potential and that all of our children can achieve if given rich opportunities, experiences, care and guidance.  With children who are eager to learn, parents and Governors who are supportive, our team of dedicated staff promote a culture of creativity with high aspirations where there are no barriers to a child’s success.  We challenge our children and ourselves to be the best we can be in a safe, rich and purposeful environment, while learning together through faith, fun and friendship.

We have high expectations and relentlessly strive for excellence.  We encourage children to take pride in their presentation, environment and learning.  We expect children to demonstrate excellent manners and behaviour with respect for others and their environment.  Staff work closely together to ensure consistency of these expectations and a shared responsibility for all children regardless of class or year group.

We hope that our website will provide you with all the information you require about our school. If you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact the school office via email birchwood_primary@sch.warrington.gov.uk  or by telephone 01925 823316.

Mrs S Bentley, Headteacher

    PE Kit
PE Kit Just a reminder that children should be wearing the correct school uniform for PE: plain white t-shirt (no football shirts or sports tops), plain black bottoms or shorts (no mesh or patterns), plain black track suit top with no large logos. Long hair should be tied back. As part of our School Uniform Policy, children are not allowed to wear earrings in school. After half-term, if children do arrive without the correct PE kit a phone call home will be made for the correct kit to be brought into school. If no contact can be made, your child will not be able to take part in their PE lesson.

    Jubilee Afternoon Celebrations
All the children and staff are looking forward to tomorrow afternoon's celebration in honour of the Platinum Jubilee. However, due to the disappointing weather forecast late afternoon tomorrow, we would like to invite parents to join us from 1pm. The playground gates will be opened at 1pm ready for parents to join children on the school field, to listen to the National Anthem. Parents can then take their child and look around the stalls. The playground gates will be closed at 1.15pm and re-opened at 2pm. Many thanks for your continued support and we look forward to you joining us tomorrow.

    Celebration Assembly
Celebration Assembly – Children are invited to and encouraged to bring in trophies/badges/awards that they have achieved outside school in swimming, football, Rainbows etc. Please ensure these are awards as they arise and not something from several months ago. In addition, if your child plays a musical instrument, performs dances or sings to a recognisable standard, they could be given the opportunity to perform in celebration assembly, which takes place every Friday. This also includes our weekly attendance celebration where the class with the highest attendance receives a trophy for the week. The children really love this celebration event on a Friday. Have a lovely weekend!

Entrances and Exits for children in Years 1 - 6
Dear Parents and Carers, Due to the success of all children in years one - six, all exiting the playground from the gate on the main playground, we would like to make this the same entrance for children in years one -six each morning. Ms Keay or a member of SLT will be available at this gate each morning too. The green gates at the front of school will be only used for children in EYFS (Mrs Patterson's class) and will open from 8.30am - 8.40am. Please take care as you use the public footpath at the side of school as a mains water pipe has burst during the holidays. We have been informed today that the work should be completed within two days. Many thanks for your continued support

Bikes and Scooters on the playground
Dear Parents/Carers, Can you please ensure that your child does not ride their bike or scooter once inside the school grounds (inside the gates). We have a number of narrow pathways and tight corners that can get busy during different times of the day and we want to make sure that there are no accidents. This also applies to any adults on bikes or scooters. Thank you for your help and support with this matter.
