A very warm welcome to Birchwood C of E Primary School!

Welcome to Birchwood Church of England Primary School.

Our School Values are:

· Perseverance       · Hope         · Respect        · Trust        · Friendship      · Love

Our Christian ethos and values underpin all of our actions.  We believe everyone has limitless potential and that all of our children can achieve if given rich opportunities, experiences, care and guidance.  With children who are eager to learn, parents and Governors who are supportive, our team of dedicated staff promote a culture of creativity with high aspirations where there are no barriers to a child’s success.  We challenge our children and ourselves to be the best we can be in a safe, rich and purposeful environment, while learning together through faith, fun and friendship.

We have high expectations and relentlessly strive for excellence.  We encourage children to take pride in their presentation, environment and learning.  We expect children to demonstrate excellent manners and behaviour with respect for others and their environment.  Staff work closely together to ensure consistency of these expectations and a shared responsibility for all children regardless of class or year group.

We hope that our website will provide you with all the information you require about our school. If you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact the school office via email birchwood_primary@sch.warrington.gov.uk  or by telephone 01925 823316.

Mrs S Bentley, Headteacher

    PE
As the hot weather is set to continue we would like the children to come to school in the school PE kit each day (plain shorts & plain white T-shirt). This will hopefully keep them cooler than school uniform. Can you also remember to apply sun cream before they come to school and to make sure that they have their water bottle and sun hat with them. Children in Year 6 will need to wear their school uniform on Thursday as it is their leavers service.

Dear Parents/Carers, Please find attached information regarding our procedures which we will be following in school until we finish for the summer holidays on Thursday 22nd July. COVID restrictions update
Good Afternoon, We hope you were pleased with the announcement yesterday about some of the restrictions being lifted from Monday 19th July. We would like to clarify how this impacts on procedures which are currently operating in school, until the end of term. Parents and carers are requested to continue to wear masks whilst dropping off and collecting their children and we will remain in our class bubbles. There is a marked increase in cases locally and we would like to ensure that all our children, staff and parents do not have to isolate at the start of the summer holidays. We will continue with the same routines we currently have in place, until we finish on Thursday 22nd July. We will update you before we finish with school routines for September. Please continue to support us and keep our school family safe.

    Non-uniform day on Wednesday
Our non-uniform day was due to be this Friday to raise funds to support Y6 leavers celebrations, however due to England getting so far in the Euros - we thought it would be a great idea to get behind England, as they play Denmark in the semi-final of the Euros! We would like to invite all children (and staff!) to wear an England kit OR something red OR something white...to show that we are supporting England. This is a non uniform day; but please ensure your children are wearing appropriate clothing to ensure they can take part in PE lessons. Please note, we would like a donation of £1 if your child chooses to wear non-uniform. Also, our Y6 pupils will continue selling ice lollies after school. Thank you for your continued support.
